“I have tried this shoe and they have a wider fit.”
Ran an 18-mile long run with tempo intervals in the Takumi Sen 10: the carbon rods make it bouncier than the TS8, it runs about half a size smaller, and the outside-foot pain they had in the TS8 is gone.
“I got a pair of Takumi Sen 10 over the weekend and did a long run workout in them yesterday”
After two runs in the Takumi Sen 10, a little firmer and more stable than the TS8. Later they use it for short intervals under 1,000m, finding it direct and well cushioned, though slightly less responsive than the 8.
“It looks like a Takumi, it feels like a Takumi on the foot - it is a Takumi.”
A first run of mile repeats in the Takumi Sen 10 let them hit paces they'd only managed in spikes. True to size; the upper took getting used to. Highly recommended for picking up the pace.
“It felt like the shoes were allowing me to hit paces that I could only previously hit in spikes.”
A 145 lb high-school XC and track runner put about 50 miles of speed work and a turkey trot on the Takumi Sen 10, mostly on a muddy XC course: snug race fit with a thumb's width of room.
“From 100s strides to mile repeats to 4 mile tempos.”
Loves the Takumi Sen 10 for track work getting ready for the season.
“I love my takumi sen 10s.”
The Takumi Sen 10 has enough toe room in their AP3/Boston 12 size but an extremely narrow race fit; great for short, fast intervals and 5Ks but they wouldn't race a 10K in it.
“Got these in the same size as AP3 and Boston 12.”
A 200 lb runner set a 5K PB in the Takumi Sen 10 on their first run, then a 6-minute half-marathon PB; it got much comfier after about 50 miles and shines at threshold and faster, not on slow runs.
“They 100% got so much comfier after about 50 miles”
500 km on the Takumi Sen 10: great at most paces up to 2 hours if it fits, perfect with no break-in, excellent grip even in trail races, and long-lasting. Better for light runners going very fast.
“I have 500km on sen 8 and 500km on sen 10 (1,000km total) .”
A 125 lb high-school runner raced state XC in the Takumi Sen 10: very light, comfortable and breathable upper, runs a little small with a snug race fit, and needs a runner's loop for the heel.
“I wore these shoes in my state championship where I placed in the top 25.”
Really likes the Takumi Sen 10 for tempo runs down to hard 5K efforts, similar to the TS8 but comfier; they then ran a 10K PB of 36:24 in it.
“I really like them for tempo runs down to hard 5k efforts.”
The Takumi Sen 10 is great, but the laces are horrible: both came undone in the second half of a 3K XC race even when tied tightly.
“I have the same shoes, they are great but as you said, the laces are horrible.”
The Takumi Sen 10's laces work once dialled in; a great 5K/10K and interval shoe that feels light, disappears on the foot and cushions like the Adios Pro 3.
“It is a great shoe for 5K/10K/interval workout and could be some tempo efforts”
Loves the Takumi Sen 10 for speed work, but it makes them overpronate much more than other unstable shoes, so they limit its use.
“Only downside is that I notice that they make me overpronate significantly more than in other relatively unstable shoes”
PB'd a 5K parkrun in the Takumi Sen 10: the flexible rods work well on dirt and gravel and it's top tier for sharp cornering.
“PBd a 5km parkrun in these yesterday.”
Uses the Takumi Sen 10 weekly for 5Ks: it only gives back what you put in, fine when pushing hard, but for absolute pace at 5K and up they'd take the Vaporfly.
“these seem to only give back what you put in.”
Loves the Takumi Sen 10's bounce and ground feel, but the narrow fit and midfoot cutout are painful.
“I have the TS10 and love the bounce love the ground feel but yeah that narrow fit plus midfoot cutout is painful.”
Uses the Takumi Sen 10 for interval track work and finds its firmer Lightstrike Pro perfect.
“Same, I use the TS10 for interval track work and that firmer LS pro is perfect for me.”
At 82 kg, the Takumi Sen 10's firm midsole never bottomed out, but its upper fit and limited stack were mild complaints.
“With the TS10, I never really worried about bottoming out the midsole since it was so firm.”
Finds the Takumi Sen 10 pretty harsh and uses it for track workouts, preferring the TS9 for races.
“10 is pretty harsh. I use it for track workouts.”
Did not like the Takumi Sen 10 despite the hype: the narrow heel made landing feel unbalanced and uncomfortable every run.
“I used Takumi Sen 10. I did not like those shoes”
At 145 lb they never got enough power down to get the most from the Takumi Sen 10's firm foam, so it's now a daily-miles shoe for when they want less rocker and lower stack.
“I use it for daily miles when I want less rocker and lower stack at this point.”
