“Review: they seem... fine?”
After one hilly fartlek, a 145 lb midfoot striker with very wide forefeet loves the Takumi Sen 11: excellent energy return, true to their AP4 size, and much less narrow than the TS9/10.
“Energy return is excellent, like the Adios 9 and AP4.”
At 200 lb, they love the Takumi Sen 11's gusseted tongue and fantastic fit; it's snappier than the AP4 and smoother and bouncier than the TS9.
“I LOVE that the tongue is gusseted.”
Owning both, the Takumi Sen 11 feels more stable and a bit faster than the Evo SL, and they can push it to half marathon.
“The Takumis feels a lot more stable, a bit faster, and I can push them up to half-marathon no problem.”
Likes how fast the Takumi Sen 11 is, running a 5K 40 seconds quicker than the same route in the AP4 thanks to quick turnover, but it's narrow and bad for walking or standing.
“I do like how fast this shoe is.”
Truly enjoyed their first Takumi Sen 11 run: softer, trampoline-like foam and a steadier, more traditional front than the Evo SL at fast paces.
“I am a big fan of the EVO SL, and I truly enjoyed my first run with the Takumi Sen 11.”
At 82 kg, comparing it with the TS10, AP3 and AP4, they rank the Takumi Sen 11 among 2025's best shoes: softer cushioning, a better upper and a smoother transition than the TS10, and more stable than the AP4 when form breaks down.
“The TS11 might go down as one of the best running shoes of 2025.”
Ran a 10-mile indoor track run on day one in the Takumi Sen 11 and loved it; it feels speedier than the AP4 with welcome ground feel.
“I did a 10 mile indoor track run the first day I had them and loved it.”
Their first Takumi Sen 11 run was a 12K fun run: more stable than the AP4 at slow paces, a bit narrower, and a little heel slip from sizing up.
“My first run on these was a 12km fun run”
Their 5K PB now belongs to the Takumi Sen 11; it fit like a glove at true to size, though it doesn't gift you speed.
“But I did a 5K race a month later and since then my 5K PB holder is the Takumi Sen 11.”
Sent the Takumi Sen 11 back: the curved last, midfoot cutouts and very narrow rear aren't supportive enough for longer distances, though the upper is soft.
“I picked them up based on this review saying they are more versatile and then sent them back.”
First run in the Takumi Sen 11: more unstable and narrower than the AP4, forcing them onto the forefoot, but legs felt good after a threshold run, heart rate stayed controlled, and the upper is soft with plenty of toe room.
“I had my first run today and have mixed feelings”
Really likes the Takumi Sen 11, but next to the AP4 it's very narrow and irritated their plantar fascia on early runs until ultra-thin socks fixed it.
“I really like my TS11 and they fit into a spot in my rotation”
Initially lukewarm on the road, the Takumi Sen 11 shines on the track for 400m–10K with phenomenal grip; they now prefer it to any other shoe for track and races up to 10K and set a 10K PB in it.
“As an update, I've changed my mind on the TS11 and now prefer it to any other I've run in for track workouts and races up to 10k.”
